As an account executive and designer at Beyond PR Group, I was tasked with revamping the company website and social media, as well as developing materials for new business and events.
The old website was created quickly in the most simple way when the company started. It looked like it was from the early 2000’s and had not been updated. My task was to upgrade the design to a modern look, include additional features and maintain the website with the most up-to-date clients, features and media placements.
The new site was built in WordPress with the Mega theme and utilizes the theme’s page builder, as well as the default WordPress page editor.
The homepage allows access to all of the clients, experience and services provided by Beyond PR Group and easily navigates to each page. The menu breaks down each section in a comprehensive way to make the site easily navigable as well.
Some of the notable features throughout the website are an interactive slider, interactive tables, collapsible menus, and an interactive calendar to book appointments.
The social media accounts for Beyond PR Group had been neglected for some time. I focused on the Facebook page and created a business page on LinkedIn.
The Facebook page is primarily used to post the latest media placements for clients. I created a cover photo with images that highlight some of the more impressive placements.
There was no LinkedIn page for Beyond PR Group, so I created a page with all of the company info and included the collage of client placements to keep a consistent look across each social media platform.
One of the most important materials a company needs is a media kit for prospective clients to reference for background, achievements and capabilities in one place.
For the design of the Beyond PR Group media kit, I kept the feel light with a white background and colors that matched the company logo. I used a modern thin sans serif typeface and used thin lines to separate sections of each page.
Untapped Media Event
Part of the services Beyond PR Group offers is organizing events. One event hosted by the company was a media event called Untapped. I was tasked with creating all of the materials for the event, including a sponsor kit, invite, banners, step and repeat, and fact sheets.
The sponsor kit utilizes the blue color from the Beyond PR Group logo to maintain the brand. The cover features a prominent blurred image in the background of a news studio in reference to the media theme of the event and important information about the event (date, time, location) boldly displayed. The rest of the sponsor kit is a lighter feel with white background, the light blue and gray text used throughout. The kit is organized with important information of media attendees and sponsorship levels first, followed by additional information about the location and Beyond PR Group after. The final “Proven Success” page with well-known media logos gives a sense of respectability and legitimacy to the hosts.
Since the event was designed for luxury lifestyle and was taking place at a wellness spa, the feel of the invite had to convey a soft sense of elegance and tranquility, while also being informative. The thin serif typeface conveys a classic luxury, while the soft colors, border and design elements also portray a luxury and tranquility.
The last element of the event was the step and repeat, which was used for photo opportunities with vendors and celebrities. Untapped is prominently displayed with each of the vendors’ logos throughout to be included in every photo.
